Foreign resident service office

Located at the Tourist office

It deals with foreigners that need information, have a problem or query with the Municipal Administration.

Velez Malaga has become a city where up to 95 nationalities live together. In 2010 there were 1434 Germans, 1323 British people, 1280 Rumanians, 329 Italians, 277 French people who add up to 11222 registered foreigners in our Municipality. However, the majority of these foreign residents do not know our language, customs or laws.

With the objective of providing a service which was right for their needs, it was decided to start this free foreign resident service in several languages in Torre del Mar.

Apart from working as a bridge between different municipal departments, the main function of this department is to inform visitors and foreign residents about any procedure, query, or problem that they might encounter with the municipal administration such as municipal taxes (IBI, road tax, etc.), building licenses, Town Hall registrations, certificates or any other type of complaints that foreigners may raise. It is intended to achieve greater foreign residents’ integration in the municipality through this office, allowing them to participate in all the activities taking place, whether they are cultural, sport or festive events.
