Trapiche

A mostly agricultural populated area on the northern municipal boundary of Velez Malaga. Trapiche is next to the Arco road which links Velez Malaga with the A-45 motorway (Malaga-Antequera).

The Axarquia airfield is located in the Trapiche area. It has a sporting character and a 637 metre takeoff and landing strip.

In addition, the Budist Stupa “Karma Guen” , an International meditation centre, is also located in the Trapiche vicinity. It belongs to the Karma Kagyu of the Diamond Path Buddhism lineage. It is part of a network of more than 250 centres of the Karma Kagyu School founded by Lama Ole Nydahl.

Its excellent location and pleasant weather make this centre an ideal place to meditate, study Dharma and participate in the different activities taking place there.
