Piety and popular religious beliefs in Velez has turned every corner of the city into Chapels, Altars on façades or small Temples.
Easter week is represented by its small chapels, especially since some religious figures that normally come out in processions are worshipped in two of them. It is the case of our Lady of the Helpless which is worshipped in a humble chapel located at the Royal Gate of the old City (Puerta Real de la Villa) that used to be a small room for the guards to protect the gate built in approximately the XVII century.
